        ABOUT US

The Central Indiana Siberian Husky Club (CISHC) is an AKC-recognized breed club, founded in 1967. Its members include exhibitors and fanciers of the Siberian Husky Breed.

The Central Indiana Siberian Husky Club hosts an annual two day Siberian Husky Specialty with All Breed Obedience and Rally Shows. The two-day shows are hosted in Noblesville, Indiana at the Hamilton County 4-H Fairgrounds every spring. All CISHC events are open for members, non-members, and the general public to attend.

Additionally, CISHC offers educational opportunities during its annual “Meet the Breed” event at the Kokomo Kennel Club in Kokomo, Indiana. CISHC offers support to local Siberian rescue organizations through the efforts of Indy Homes for Huskies.

        OUR HISTORY

The Central Indiana Siberian Husky Club was founded in 1967 by a group of Siberian Husky fanciers. When we first started out, we held matches in our member’s yards and made rings out of clothes line rope. Later on we held our specialties at the Indiana Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis. Eventually we joined a group of 10 associated specialties at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Today we host our show at the Hamilton County 4-H Fairgrounds in Noblesville, Indiana.

The Siberian Husky Club of America, Inc. annually hosts a National Specialty and Annual Meeting. Held in the Autumn, this nearly-week-long event moves around the country each year. The SHCA National is a Specialty Show and Obedience Trial, an educational opportunity, and many more activities. All SHCA events are open to members and non-members alike, and everyone is welcome to attend.

Additionally, SHCA offers educational opportunities in its publications through other publications (such as the Newsletter and Annual Directory, both available through the Club), and through Judges’ Study Groups and general educational seminars. SHCA offers support to local Siberian rescue organizations through the efforts of the Siberian Rescue Committee.

Additionally, it confers many Sled Dog degrees on Siberians completing the requirements for this SHCA performance program. And, SHCA offers the Siberian Husky Ophthalmic Registry for ACVO-cleared Siberians.
